It wasn't an uncommon occurrence for Amelia and Maddie to just hang back in the Gryffindor Girls 4th year dorms and hang out while all the other girls were out and about either in other areas of the castle or on the grounds or wherever they might be. Amelia stockpiled a few snacks from both the kitchens and Hogsmeade and stuffed them into her dresser. As far as she was concerned, there always had to be some sort of food on hand in case she started getting hungry. She would get irritable if she got too hungry after all, and besides..what sort of party was it if they didn't have refreshments? (Not that twin sisters hanging out and having girls time as they often did was really a party, but..Amelia always had a habit of making everything more bombastic than it actually was in reality?)
"I got us some snacks, hope you don't mind chocolate frogs, Bertie Botts beans and a bunch of sweets from Honeydukes!" She did have a few savory snacks in there as well just in case those sorts of snacks suited her or her sister's fancies instead, but Amelia had a large and well known sweet tooth so of course most of her stockpile consisted of sweets. She was a particular fan of Bertie Botts because of the risks involved, and it was always fun to try to guess what bean one had in their hand before they tried it. Then again, she also liked chocolate frog cards cause she liked collecting them. She now had a good side collection of chocolate frog cards, though she was still missing several.
..nor would this sisterly hang out consist merely of stuffing their faces - though Amelia certainly wouldn't complain if it was, admittedly. No, they also had plans to do each other's hair and make-up and maybe gossip or hell, even possibly practice some of their spells! "I checked with the others and they won't be back any time soon." She grinned. That meant that they had the dorm to themselves for a while! Amelia rubbed her hands together as if plotting something devious.
Knowing Amelia, it might wind up that way. It wasn't out of the ordinary for Amelia to come up with grandiose plans that landed her in trouble, and that tendency had only grown worse since the truth came out about their father and brothers. It was almost as if she was doing it on purpose at this point to send a message. In this case though, it was doubtful they'd get up to too much trouble..after all, Maddie was a tempering influence on Amelia. It was when Maddie wasn't around that trouble started..

Sometimes... sometimes too many people was, well, too many. Madeleine often wished for the quiet and calm of home - especially the few weeks just after school began. Everyone was chattery, everyone had so much catching up to do. And Madeleine just wanted to read, or study, or rest if she was in the dormitory. So it was that Maddie looked forward to any time that it happened to just be her and Amelia alone in their dorm; the other girls were out doing who knew what, and Maddie could relax. She didn't have to try to socialize with so many - or try to fade into the background, as was so much more often the case. "I got us some snacks," Amelia was saying, drawing Maddie out of her thoughts. The elder twin smiled faintly. "... chocolate frogs, Bertie Botts beans, and a bunch of sweets from Honeydukes!" Amelia never, ever had to worry about Maddie taking the Bertie Botts from her - the risk in them was just too great, and Maddie didn't really have the greatest track record with them. One too many pepper beans, among too many other awful flavors to name, and Maddie had sworn off the deceitful little things. "Did you happen to get any pink coconut ice? Or... or pumpkin pasties? It's... it's okay if you didn't, though. I think I've still got a bit left." If Maddie ever ate any of the chocolate frogs - a rarity, really, considering the enchantment put on them to make them move - she almost always gave Amelia her cards. There were a few she kept as some sort of motivation: notably, those of famous magizoologists, or those that had made any sort of great strides in Creature husbandry. She wanted to be like them, one day, and have her own picture on a card. Granted, it was a wish she hadn't spoken of to anyone... not even Amelia. And for now, it would stay that way. "I checked with the others and they won't be back any time soon." As Amelia rubbed her hands together, Maddie's eyebrow rose. "'Melia, you're not going to get us into trouble, are you?" Please no. She had homework. And besides, she didn't want to lose Gryffindor any house points. It was better if they just... stuck to the plan, and did their hair and makeup. It would be almost like home - except at home, they couldn't practice their spells... and Amelia was less and less content to spend time around their Papa. Amelia Fitzgerald, these cuties

Unlike her sister, Amelia loved being around people. Amelia was the extrovert to Maddie's introvert, if one was comparing the two. And people often did compare the two - They were twins after all. She (usually) respected Maddie's wishes to be left alone if it really seemed like Maddie needed it though. Thus, Amelia was thrilled that Maddie was as happy as she was about this girls' day that they had planned. It would be just the two of them, the twins, while the other girls in the dorm were out wandering the halls or on the grounds or doing whatever it was that they decided to do. The important part was that Amelia and Maddie would have some sisterly bonding time! The only thing that would make this better would be having their brothers..she made a mental note to try to get something together with them!
It was at that point that Maddie asked if she brought pink coconut ice or pumpkin pasties. "I..didn't get any pink coconut ice, my bad. But I did get pumpkin pasties! Here, catch!" Amelia tossed the pasties in her sister's direction, clearly expecting her sister to catch them whether Maddie was actually ready to do such a thing or not. In fact, she didn't even look to see if her sister did succeed in catching them, as she was back to sifting through the foods that she'd piled up on her bed. She retrieved a chocolate frog from the pile and bit into it, taking a quick look at the card before sighing and setting it aside. Helga Hufflepuff. She had that one already. She had all four founders, actually. But at least she could savor the chocolate frog!
She laughed when she saw her sister raise an eyebrow at her rubbing her hands together, as if she actually thought Amelia was plotting something! "Of course not Mads. What do you take me for? I'm a good girl." Except that the smile that Amelia wore on her face suggested a mischievous streak a mile wide..a streak that Maddie knew very well that Amelia possessed, and had possessed since she was a child. That said, nothing was set in stone, and she probably wouldn't do anything..today.
That said, Amelia's mischief was starting to take a bit of a darker turn as of late. She didn't really want to be a good girl if it made her father happy, because her father didn't care if Matthew and Alfred were happy, or Matthew or Alfred's mothers. So why should she care what he thought? So while she continued to smirk, the large bite that she took out of her chocolate frog seemed a bit more forceful than it needed to be. The taste of the chocolate was soothing though. Eating could almost always cheer her up

Amelia always knew, somehow, when it was best to push Maddie into being around people - and when it was better to leave her alone. Maddie wasn't even sure how, honestly - left to her own devices, she'd probably never socialize outside of class and time with Amelia, Alfred, and Matthieu. She preferred the quiet, but when Amelia did manage to convince her to come along to whatever gathering, she usually ended up having fun. There had been that one time-- but she wasn't going to think about it.
"I..didn't get any pink coconut ice, my bad. But I did get pumpkin pasties! Here, catch!"
"Wh-!" But the pasties had already been thrown in her direction. She scrambled to catch them, definitely unprepared for the barrage of sweets. (By now, she probably should have been prepared for it. This happened too regularly to be considered anything but usual.) "'Melia! Give me more of a warning next time." Her tone was faintly scolding, even if she was most certainly laughing as well. She'd caught them this time, but next time she might not be so lucky. And then they'd have crumbs absolutely everywhere.
"Of course not Mads. What do you take me for? I'm a good girl."
That smile was met with a decidedly unconvinced look. "Uh huh. And all those times you weren't supposed to be where you were, or all those times that you played pranks on someone, or any of the other numerous times -- those weren't you, I guess? Those were your evil twin -- not me, I might add -- and certainly not you?" She'd believe that when the sky turned grass green, and the grass turned blue. Amelia had a mischievous streak wider than Madeleine could even pinpoint.
"What card did you get?" Well, Amelia was eating a chocolate frog; it was a valid question. It must not be one that her sister was looking for, though, because there wasn't a celebration of any sort that followed glancing at it. Honestly, Maddie had no idea how many cards Amelia had at this point; or which she was still actively looking for. It wasn't as though Maddie could do much to assist; she didn't eat the chocolates. She did, though, try to listen in if any of the others were talking about their collections, so that maybe Amelia could trade for one of the ones she still sought.

Oops, she thought that Maddie had been paying a bit more attention than she was. But once Maddie caught the sweets, Amelia started laughing. Now that she knew that no actual treats were harmed in the process, she could laugh without feeling guilty about it. Amelia was always the more sporty of the two though, at least when it came to things like throwing and catching..and Quidditch, of course. Amelia, Alfred, and Matthew were all on their house Quidditch teams. Maddie didn't play..which was a bit sad, because she thought it would be awesome if all four of them could get together for a mini game at some point. Obviously they'd have to forego certain positions, but it could still be fun! She still might try to get Mattie and Maddie to go along with it..
Amelia grinned when Maddie called her out on her pranks and generally mischief. "Of course it was our evil twin..or triplet, I should say, since there would be three of us. Haven't you met her? I mean, look at our family's track record, wouldn't be surprising to find another sibling." There was a hint of bitterness in Amelia's tone, but she took another bite of her chocolate frog. She wasn't going to talk about that during her quality time with her sister, especially when her sister was a lot more easygoing about..well, everything. But given their topic of conversation? Amelia couldn't resist making a short jab. It wasn't like she was lying after all. They might very well have another sibling out there for all they knew!
It was a lot easier to transition to a different subject when Maddie asked what card she had. "This one is Helga Hufflepuff. You should start collecting more. Could give you this one" Amelia grinned, waving the card in front of Maddie. Her sister had never really shown an interest in collecting the cards before, but Amelia certainly received enough duplicates (and more) that she could help her sister get her collection started off right if she ever decided to collect like Amelia.
Not that Maddie had no Chocolate Frog cards, but the few that Maddie did have were centered around those that she actually idolized. And while Amelia did have a few favorites in her collection, she would add any cards that she did not have in her possession yet to her collection. She hoped to complete it at some point, but she could swear that the collection seemed almost never-ending. Not to mention some cards were undoubtedly rarer than others

Madeleine was definitely not athletic in the slightest. She wasn't a huge fan of riding on a broomstick, though she would if the occasion called for it. She'd much rather walk... you could see more animals and scenery that way. She would always attend Quidditch matches, though, and cheer on her siblings (and her House, but if Alfie happened to play particularly well, Madeleine wasn't above cheering for him, no matter the strange looks she got. (Which was a bit of a lie, the looks had her concerned, sometimes. It was best when Mattie was with her, or Amelia, since they provided a bit of a barrier for the Gryffindor-Slytherin rivalry.)) "I haven't met her and I don't want to. One of you is enough to handle." Maddie stated primly, though she was smiling as she said it. Amelia would know she didn't mean it badly. Still, though, the smile faded a bit as Amelia spoke about their family's track record. Her eyes fell to her lap. This was bothering Amelia more than it bothered her - not that it didn't bother her, but... but people made mistakes, and their Papa made the mistake of choosing not to get to know Mattie and Alfie. That didn't mean that Maddie was... well, content, with the situation. Not at all - but she wasn't going to dwell on the bad, and forget to see the good. She'd just focus on the fact she had brothers, and the best brothers in the whole world at that. At least the conversation change lightened the mood back up again. "I don't know how I'd collect, 'Melia... I don't like the chocolate frogs." She giggled, biting into one of the pumpkin pasties. "And I don't know... What do we need two full collections for, unless you don't want to share yours with me if I'm looking for a specific piece of information..." She wouldn't ever assume, or demand, that Amelia share with her. They were different enough they deserved to have their own things. Granted, she was always willing to share whatever she had with Amelia (that one sweater notwithstanding, as it was her favorite). Amelia Fitzgerald
