There was nothing that Elizaveta Héderváry appreciated more than a bath. It was old-fashioned, she supposed. She liked spending a full hour to herself, soaking in the heated water, sinking until the water hovered mere centimeters below her nose.
There were no baths greater than those found in Elizaveta's birthplace, Budapest, but Hogwarts certainly put up a fair fight. Sometimes, if Elizaveta was feeling particularly honest, it could even be better, but she would rarely admit to that. The biggest problem with Hogwarts' bath was really that it was limited access only. Prefects, the Head Boy and Girl, and Quidditch captains were the only one allowed into the exclusive bathroom. Elizaveta, unfortunately, was none of those things. She might have had a shot at being prefect once, but Elizaveta had chosen to focus on her…other activities instead, so the role had been passed on to another Ravenclaw student.
Still, ever since Elizaveta had discovered the existence of the Prefect Bathroom she had been more than determined to get into it. Elizaveta was nothing if not enterprising, and even though Elizaveta was very much preoccupied with her side business, she had numerous friends and connections across all four Houses. One of them, in fact, happened to be the Head Girl.
Elizaveta thought of Katya fondly. The two of them were in the same year and had become friends during class. Katya had helped her more than once as she struggled through Herbology, and they'd quickly developed a relationship outside of class as well. There was a charm to Katya that Elizaveta couldn't quite place a finger on. Her smile was infectious, her laugh even more so. Elizaveta sometimes called the girl Kitti, a shortened Hungarian version of Yekaterina. It fit Katya's sunny disposition, and sometimes it brought a smile to the girl's face, an opportunity that Elizaveta rarely passed up on.
Elizaveta hummed a soft Hungarian song as she waited next to Boris the Bewildered. The statue was enchanted with a password as many hidden rooms in Hogwarts were, and since the password changed relatively regularly, Elizaveta had to rely on Katya's insider knowledge. In her hands, she held a fresh change of clothes. There were towels and robes inside, but Elizaveta always appreciated clean clothing after a bath.
It was not the first time that Elizaveta had taken advantage of Katya's position to take a bath, but the Hufflepuff never seemed to mind. It was their little secret after all. The two of them had once spent a whole afternoon testing the golden taps around the pool, with Elizaveta laughing and tackling Katya after the girl splashed water in her face. Some of her most cherished memories of her friendship with Katya had been formed here: the night they'd gotten drunk together and talked for hours about their hopes and fears, the times they'd gossiped about exactly what their fellow classmates got up to after curfew. Sometimes Elizaveta remembered that this would likely be the last year with those sorts of memories, but she chose to brush that thought away. It was never good to dwell on endings, Elizaveta thought.
Today was just an ordinary day, for the most part. Katya had more responsibilities than ever as Head Girl, so this was their first time going to the Prefect Bathroom together in a while. It would be good to catch up and reconnect, and there was no better place to do it than in a bath.
