Thankfully, at least as far as Natalya was concerned, this was not a Potions lesson where they were forced to partner up with someone else. Even if she was on friendly terms with a couple of other students in her class, she preferred to work on her assignments by herself. She knew that she could trust herself to get the job done. It was a lot harder for her to trust others until they proved themselves worthy of said trust or managed to break past the walls that she put up intentionally to protect herself. And..it was hard to meet these requirements when one was in Potions class, as students rarely got a chance to get to know their partners that well in a classroom. It usually took meeting up outside of class, and Natalya usually avoided that unless someone sought her out (or they made that much of an impression on her).
It wasn't unusual to have professors leave the classroom in the middle of activities for a couple of moments, especially if their students were older than first or second year and could manage to behave themselves for a few moments. Though Natalya remained mostly focused on her potion, she just so happened to glance upward when she heard the door to the classroom open up again. Only instead of the sight of the professor greeting her, it was the sight of what appeared to be an older student, probably a 7th year. Natalya raised an eyebrow immediately.
If it were the professor coming back into the room, she would be able to brush it off immediately. But an older student..that was considerably harder. She wanted to focus on her potion, but thoughts and theories kept popping into her head. What had taken her professor away from the room for long enough to warrant a 7th year looking over the class? "Excuse me, but why are you here?" She usually wouldn't speak up, but this was one mystery that she could not rest until she got to the bottom of it.
It wasn't even that she cared that much, or at least that was what she would convince herself. It was more that ideas kept popping into her head, and this distracted her from her potion..and she did not like being distracted from her potion. Potions was one of her better classes, and she wanted to keep it that way. It was a source of pride for her. She needed to get an answer to her question to stop her mind from dwelling on other things so that she could get back to the task at hand
